Last week, I wrote about my newfound love for a wide leg cropped pair of trousers. This week I’m in the same style, but with this indigo denim pair from trusty Marks & Spencer. They’ve appeared on the blog a couple of times before, and I always seem to style them the same way. The waistband sits at the perfect height for tucking in a fitted tee, or a jersey vest like this one below.
This vest is another of my age old Primark wardrobe stalwarts. I really love the lace detailing on the back. The top itself has lost quite a bit of shape over the years, but when it’s tucked in like this you don’t even notice! This belt and cardigan have been in my collection forever too. They’re from Accessorize and Topshop respectively; 2 shops I hardly tend to visit any more. I find it really interesting how tastes for high street brands change over the years. I wonder how much of it is a change in personal style, and how much of it is the brand itself changing? Maybe I’ll do some research into this somehow, as it’s something I find really interesting. Ideas on a postcard please!

I’m still learning how to walk in these impulse-buy mule sandals. They were a total spur-of-the-moment purchase from Asda I talked about on my trip to Weymouth last month. I think I will always be a flats kind of girl, but I do love to mix things up sometimes. I’ve all but given up on stilettos, so these days I’m always on the look out for a more sensible block heel. These ones are low enough to wear all day, and a mule style is really popular this season. Also, they’re gold! And gold shoes make everything better.
I’m loving being able to leave the house in just a cardigan at the moment, but I’m already starting to think about my autumn wishlist. Staying in the same theme, I’m definitely thinking about more wide leg crop trousers and block heels. I actually really want some white denim in this style, or maybe a more practical cream. And I’m determined to find room for more sensible block heels. It might be time for a clear out to make room for new purchases, but that’s a challenge I’m willing to accept!
