White Jeans, ruffles and brown accessories

White jeans, ruffles and brown accessories cover

I just about managed to catch the last of the sunshine, which naturally means there’s a strange colour cast over these shots. As usual! This black and white checked top was a recent purchase from Zara, and is my first foray into ruffles. I really love it, but I still think it looks better in real life than it does in pictures. I’ve teamed it with these white jeans which are everywhere this season. I’m really keen to get my hands on a wider leg cropped pair for a more flattering cut. For now though, I’m enjoying wearing these skinnies for a lighter spring look.

I’ve added some brown accessories to add a touch of warmth to this otherwise monochrome outfit. I nabbed these floral detail leather sandals from eBay year ago. They were less than £10 I think, and are possibly still my favourite sandals. They’ve got a tiny, half inch heel which makes them a little bit more dressy than a completely flat sole. The strap detail and leather flowers mean they’re both pretty and incredibly comfortable and easy to walk in, which is a total win for me!

I still haven’t been able to get a decent close up of these new sunglasses from Romwe. They’ve got a gold mirror lens, with some some great detailing on the frames. I hadn’t noticed on the stock picture that they have nose pads, rather than a solid frame. In a way I’m glad I hadn’t seen this, as it probably would have put me off buying them. I tend to wear my sunglasses on my head more than my face, so always opt for styles with a solid frame which won’t get caught in my hair. It’s not that tricky to tuck them on my top as I’ve done here, and I love that they’re a bit different to everything else I own.

It still gets a little bit cold in the evenings, so I’ve added this cropped tweed coat from last season’s Collectif collection. I’ve still not got round to replacing the buttons, which fell off after only one wear, but I think it looks fine worn open. I love the wide lapel going into a huge hood, and the cropped length means it works as a summer jacket as well as an autumn / winter piece.
