Teddy Coat and Chunky Boots

I really should be working on building my new page but instead I’m taking pictures in the rain and posting here, because it’s what I know and it’s become so familiar now! We’re only 2 weeks into 2017 though, so there’s still plenty of time. It was a miserable and wet Monday, so I’ve gone with my trusty calf length leather DMs (that don’t look like DMs!) and a super old snuggly brown coat with raw seams and Teddy style collar detail.

I’ve raved about this fluffy oversized Warehouse jumper that I picked up last winter so much on Instagram, but I’ll tell you all how much I love it again here, just because it’s probably my favourite jumper ever. I love the pale, duck egg blue colour, it’s ever so soft and fluffy and because I sized up by 2 sizes, it’s really roomy and long in the arm which I like, as it just adds to the cosy nature of the knit.

I gone for quite a matchy-matchy colour scheme today, with a chocolate brown belt to go with my coat and boots, and then this cream pencil skirt with antique gold metal details, which match the fittings on my trusty handbag. I’ve definitely talked about my OdiLynch handbag on here too much, so one of my tasks for this week is to switch out my handbag for at least one day, just for a bit of a change! But back to the colour scheme – I think these 3 colours are some of my favourite to mix together, I even have a bedding set that is almost exactly the same 3 shades! I think they’re really natural and fresh, and I’m always a sucker for pretty much any shade of bluey-greeney-turquoise.

I’ve had these Dr Marten boots for at least 10 years, and they’re just about showing some signs of wear on the back of the heels and the curling of the leather straps. They are SO comfy, so sturdy, and the slight heel means I’ve got away with dressing them with slightly smarter outfits without them looking out of place.

I don’t wear this pencil skirt very often, as it’s quite difficult to walk in, and not all that practical, but I still really like it! It’s another age old purchase from H&M, and every time in nearly makes it to the charity pile I decide I really like the zip features and rear pockets, and it goes back in the wardrobe. The slit in the back means it is actually possible to walk in, and I think it helps it to sit really nicely as a pencil skirt with a bit of a twist. I just wish the heavy cotton drill that it’s made from had a little bit more give!
