    The Wide Leg Crop

    Wide Leg Crop cover

Perpetually behind in the world of fashion trends, I have only really just got into the wide leg crop. But boy am I into it now, a couple of years after it was first “a thing”. A wide leg is comfortable and flattering, and easier to find a good fit than its skinny counterpart. The slight crop (very slight on me as I’m on the shorter side) flashes a bit of ankle for a more summery vibe. Most styles around in stores at the moment are high waisted, which totally works for me. For someone my height, a wide leg crop with a regular rise might make me look rather stumpy. Topshop call theirs awkward trousers, which amuses me greatly.

    Tara Starlet Striped Shirt

    Tara Starlet cover

I bought this Tara Starlet shirt from my friend last year as it didn’t fit her. Tara Starlet sadly no longer exist, so I think a part of me wanted it to have a little bit of vintage reproduction history more than anything. As a result, it’s sat unworn in my closet for months. I had planned on wearing it tucked into a high waisted skirt, but that didn’t work at all with my body shape. It’s actually quite an odd style. The buttons stop really high up, above my navel. This meant that when I tried to tuck it in, the shirt didn’t keep its shape and widened my waistline massively, which is the last thing I need. The collar is also quite odd. It’s not really a proper collar, but if it’s not turned down at the lapels, it sticks out in a strange sort of funnel.

    Gold Loafers

They’re so shiny! I picked up these gold loafers for less than 10 pounds just after Christmas at my favourite high street haunt – New Look . Metallic shoes were all over the high street for the A/W season, and I can’t get enough of them.
