Red, White, Black and Leopard Print

    red, white, black leopard cover

These cropped red trousers are probably one of the most comfortable items in my wardrobe right now. I never thought I would be reaching for an elasticated waist in my 30s, but there you go. Last time I wore these trousers, I paired them with a pink jacket. My love of the pink and red trend is strong, but here I’ve gone back to one of my favourite combos. Red, white, black and leopard print are probably the most worn colours and print in my wardrobe and I love how they can be styled for every season.

    Double Velvet

    Double Velvet cover

This luscious green velvet skirt has appeared on the blog a couple of times before. I’ve mentioned that it’s a little too big, and I usually style it by folding the waistband and tucking it into a thick waist belt. Here I’ve gone for a more relaxed option, wearing it without a belt and layering a simple sweater over the top.

Old favourites – Knitwear, leather and white denim

Knitwear, leather and white denim cover

Just a quick post today, as I’ve not got a lot to say about this outfit of current favourites. I’ve got a pile of clothes at home from my winter sales haul that I’ve not even worn yet! Somehow, though, I seem to keep reverting back to the safety of my favourite pieces. These white jeans have appeared a lot lately, with the onset of spring. It’s still a risk for me to wear white as I’m so very clumsy, but I quite like the challenge! I’ve lost count of the number of times this super soft jumper has appeared on my social media. I’m pretty sure it’s my favourite piece of knitwear ever.

    White Denim and Leopard Print

White denim and leopard print cover

When I wrote the title to this post, I had a little chuckle to myself. White denim and leopard print conjure up images in my head of Eastenders, the 80’s and Pretty Woman, and not at all in a good way. But I’m hoping here, that even with the whitest of white jeans and furry leopard print ankle boots, I’ve managed to look at least acceptable for the office on a sunny spring day.

Mixing Patterns – Spots, Stripes, Checks and Leopard

Mixing Patterns - Spots, Stripes, Checks, and Leopard Print cover

We’re in that time of transitional weather, where spring is desperately trying to show its wonderful face, but winter is stubbornly refusing to leave. The key  to dressing during these changing seasons is layering. As someone who is a fan of eclectic style over minimalism, I love to mix up different pieces with a mish-mash of textures and styles. I started out with the polka dot top and striped tube skirt for this look. Once I realised I’d picked out tights with a subtle diagonal check too, I decided to go all out and mix up my patterns even more.

    Retro Tuesday – Valentine’s Edition

Valentine’s Day. Love it or not, it comes around every year, and it’s pretty much unavoidable. On social media, on the high street, on telly, it’s enforced romance and commercialism everywhere. To be fair, a lot of my friends have been advocating love in general, which is surely a good thing in the world today. I’m not a big fan of competitive romance, so I don’t really buy into the whole thing. I do like to nod to a trend in a small way though, so I’ve worn a red shirt and some rose quartz in honour of the schmaltz.

Leopard and Red and Faux Fur again

It’s sunny but it’s still cold, so I’ve grabbed my old, old tortoiseshell sunnies to go with my enormous faux fur coat. I wanted to go dancing today, unfortunately I didn’t get out of work in time but I still dressed the part!
