Grey on Grey – The return of the sleeveless Jacket

    Grey on Grey cover

This is the third outing of this sleeveless grey coat on the blog, and I’m sure it won’t be the last! It’s the first time I’ve managed to pair it with items that aren’t maroon, which is a minor achievement in itself. That being said, I’ve shunned colours completely and gone for a grey and black palette for a dreary spring day.

A Big Jumper and A Small Skirt

I’m genuinely not sure what was going through my head when I selected this outfit, but I actually really like it. I think the random combination is just on the border of my comfort zone, and lately I’ve been quite pleased with those slightly-more-eccentric outfit choices. The colour palette is still quite simple, which helps keep some level of cohesion. Each aspect of the outfit is quite simple too, it’s together that they’re a bit more bizarre!

    The Sleeveless Coat

I can’t believe it’s March and I’m still working through my sale haul from the New Year! I guess that just goes to show how much wear I get out of my favourite pieces. Also, it might give an indication of how nervous I am to try new looks. In my defence, it’s not been warm enough to wear a coat without sleeves until now. I’d been on the lookout for a sleeveless coat for a while, and when I saw this one in the Next sales just after Christmas I knew it had to be mine. The fabric is a really heavy mix which I really like. It also hangs quite long on me, which I think works well for a chilly spring day.

Old favourites – Knitwear, leather and white denim

Just a quick post today, as I’ve not got a lot to say about this outfit of current favourites. I’ve got a pile of clothes at home from my winter sales haul that I’ve not even worn yet! Somehow, though, I seem to keep reverting back to the safety of my favourite pieces. These white jeans have appeared a lot lately, with the onset of spring. It’s still a risk for me to wear white as I’m so very clumsy, but I quite like the challenge! I’ve lost count of the number of times this super soft jumper has appeared on my social media. I’m pretty sure it’s my favourite piece of knitwear ever.

    Old Clothes, New Outfit

I’ve worn every item in this post hundreds of times, but never together! The burgundy knit from last winter is the newest piece here, and it’s featured many times over on my Instagram. I’m also wearing my go-to block heeled ankle boots, which have had A LOT of wear over the years. This thin Mac from Primark was a bargain buy ages ago, and whilst I’d like to invest in a higher quality version, I’ve yet to find something that I’m willing to splash out on when this one does the job pretty well. Finally, this printed light cotton skirt: I’m wearing in my Twitter profile pic, and it must be at least 10 years old now!

    Waterfall Cardigan

This weather this week’s got me all confused with my outfit decisions. It started to get a bit warmer, then suddenly the temperatures have plummeted again. I guess I shouldn’t complain, as I often laud the benefits of layering for such occasions, which is what I’ve done today.

    Cosy Knit and Black

On a dreary Monday after a tiring weekend, I honestly didn’t have the energy to try and put together a particularly snazzy outfit. My default throughout the winter months has been a chunky, cosy knit and simple separates. I’ve gone for this tried and tested combo here, with an old roll neck jumper I acquired from a previous house share, trusty black skinnies and an age old wool coat.

    Burgundy, Black and Tartan

Today’s post is a short one – I’ve been so busy trying to migrate my old posts from this year over to the new website and make it look acceptable. I’ve not had too much time to pop out and take pictures or plan any detailed blog content, but that should change soon as I continue to develop this new site now it’s all up and running!
