    60’s Florals and Suede Boots

    60's cover

My wardrobe is a total mishmash of styles and influences. I’ve got a fair amount of mid-century style; the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s are my favourite decades for sartorial inspiration. This look is much more 60’s themed though, and a perfect summer combo to cheer up London streets. This floral dress first featured on my Insta all the way back in April when I was still wearing tights! The weather finally picked up enough this August to be able to wear it with bare legs and ankle boots. I think dresses / skirts and ankle boots are basically acceptable attire from spring right through to autumn, no?

    Old Clothes, New Outfit

I’ve worn every item in this post hundreds of times, but never together! The burgundy knit from last winter is the newest piece here, and it’s featured many times over on my Instagram. I’m also wearing my go-to block heeled ankle boots, which have had A LOT of wear over the years. This thin Mac from Primark was a bargain buy ages ago, and whilst I’d like to invest in a higher quality version, I’ve yet to find something that I’m willing to splash out on when this one does the job pretty well. Finally, this printed light cotton skirt: I’m wearing in my Twitter profile pic, and it must be at least 10 years old now!

Denim Mini and a Duffle Coat

A sunny start to the week got me a bit over excited about wearing less wintery clothes. I pulled this denim mini skirt and white shirt out of the wardrobe with a thin jumper for a kind of preppy look to start the week. The trouble is, it’s still really cold so I’ve added knee high boots, tights and a duffle coat for warmth.

    Waterfall Cardigan

This weather this week’s got me all confused with my outfit decisions. It started to get a bit warmer, then suddenly the temperatures have plummeted again. I guess I shouldn’t complain, as I often laud the benefits of layering for such occasions, which is what I’ve done today.

    Burgundy, Black and Tartan

Today’s post is a short one – I’ve been so busy trying to migrate my old posts from this year over to the new website and make it look acceptable. I’ve not had too much time to pop out and take pictures or plan any detailed blog content, but that should change soon as I continue to develop this new site now it’s all up and running!

    Teddy Coat and Chunky Boots

I really should be working on building my new page but instead I’m taking pictures in the rain and posting here, because it’s what I know and it’s become so familiar now! We’re only 2 weeks into 2017 though, so there’s still plenty of time. It was a miserable and wet Monday, so I’ve gone with my trusty calf length leather DMs (that don’t look like DMs!) and a super old snuggly brown coat with raw seams and Teddy style collar detail.
