Super Shiny Shoes

Shiny shoes cover

I am so excited to finally be wearing these shiny shoes! They were part of my big Christmas season sale shopping, and they’re the last item I’ve got around to wearing. These photos don’t really do justice to just how shiny these block heels are. They’re like a mirror! I was drawn to them like a magpie because they’re so shiny. They’ve sat in my shoe cupboard for a good few months though as they’re quite fancy for every day wear. I wore them eventually as I wass going for lunch at the lovely Michelin starred Kitchen W8 in Kensington.

I don’t blog about food any more and I miss it. It felt quite odd going out for a lovely lunch and not taking pictures of my food! One day I’d like to get back into food blogging and restaurant reviews, but at the moment I just don’t have enough hours in the day! But anyway, I digress. I wanted to wear something a bit nice, so it was the perfect opportunity to bring out the shiny shoes and smarten things up just a little bit. I think this look classes as “smart casual”, one of those specifications that people often seem to struggle with. My office has no dress code, so it’s not really something I need to consider particularly often. I do enjoy “dressing up” every now and again though, even if it is just as an excuse to wear some shiny heels!

Adding a blazer to an outfit immediately makes it a little bit smarter. This blazer is made of velvet, so it adds a level of luxe along with being a staple smarter outer layer. I’ve got a plain black cardigan layered underneath as it wasn’t quite so warm today. Then the base of my outfit is this simple white striped tee and some dark purple textured trousers. I’ve had these trousers for ages, and although they’re high waisted, they sit a bit strangely, so I can only wear them with a longer top like this striped t shirt.
