Today is officially the first day of spring, huzzah! Sadly it’s pretty grey and miserable outside at the moment, so I’ll share this outfit from last week when the sun was shining. I first posted about this skirt a couple of months ago. I can’t believe I’ve not worn it since! Once thing I mentioned in my first blog post is that it’s a bit too big, which makes it quite hard to style. I have to tuck the waistband into a belt otherwise it sits low on my hips and is quite unflattering!
Styling difficulties aside, I just love the colour and texture of this skirt. I’m also super glad that pleated midi skirts seem to be here to stay. I hope I can carry on wearing this one through to next winter! The velvet is so tactile, and the colour adds a real luxe element to a simple outfit. Here I’ve just paired it with a plain black tee and elastic belt.
The sun might have been shining, but the evenings still get chilly. I’ve layered up with my old favourites, this leopard trim shrug and matte leather moto jacket. Both of these items have been in my wardrobe forever – they’re just so versatile.
I bought these pale flats on ASOS a few years ago from French Connection. They’ve lasted really well and they’re the perfect neutral flat for spring weather. I forgot to take a close up (there’s one on my Insta 2 years ago!) but they’re actually slightly shimmery. They’re a cream leather with an iridescent pink glow and cream suede contrasting heel. And so comfy! I admire women who wear heels every day, but I’m very much a flats kind of girl.
