Retro Tuesdays – Collectif Pencil Skirt

Collectif skirt cover

It wasn’t until I was listing the items in this outfit for this post that I realised I’m almost decked out head to toe in items from Collectif. I bought this skirt recently on a chilled visit to Spitalfields market. I love the ease of shopping online, but sometimes it’s nice to actually go into a store and try a piece on. My intention was only to browse, but  this skirt was in the sale and I just couldn’t resist! I love the pale green colour, and it has pockets! The stiff cotton is comfy and practical, and it’s a flattering length, sitting just below the knee. Long enough to be smart, short enough to still be summery!

This green shrug has featured on the blog a couple of times before, and I’m finding myself reaching for it more and more often. The cropped style goes perfectly with high waisted skirts and trousers, and the long sleeves are enough to wear instead of a coat on warmer days. The wool is soft and cosy and the dark green goes with a surprising amount of colour schemes.

I had wanted a cold shoulder top for aaages  but could never quite find one that sat right. You’d think a cold shoulder top would be a pretty easy thing to find, but they were all either too tight, or too loose, or just sat at a really odd angle. It wasn’t until I visited the Oxford Street Forever 21 store for the first time, that I found this simple black cold shoulder t shirt. It was just what I’d been searching for, and incredibly affordable too! This version isn’t available any more, but they’ve got a long sleeved version that I like the look of too. Better for the upcoming colder weather perhaps?!

These shoes are also not new to the blog. They featured back in March with another retro inspired outfit. The style and detailing really lend themselves to vintage inspired outfits. I’ve now got my eye on the these faux-leather versions in two gorgeous pastel shades. I don’t neeed them, but they’re just so pretty, and ridiculously reduced. It would be rude not to, right?
