Pink and Red again, this time with Butterflies

Pink and red and butterflies cover

I don’t think I’ve ever been into a trend as much as this clashing of pink and red that’s everywhere at the moment. I’m not sure why, perhaps it’s because there are so many pieces available, that there’s something in either pink or red to suit everyone’s tastes? This time the combo I’ve gone for is quite subtle. With the jacket on the cardigan is hidden, so the colour clash is only visible when the jacket is being carried. Luckily, it’s been so warm lately that I didn’t really need to wear the jacket at all!

Something I’ve not done much before is wearing an item with pink and red accents to go with bolder pieces. This floaty dress has a pretty design with butterflies and flowers, with a mixture of spring colours against the bold yellow and black background. I think the pink jacket and red cardigan really help to pick out the pink and red of the dress and bring the outfit together.

One of my favourite spring / summer pairings is to match a feminine dress with chunky ankle boots. The colour blocking on this dress is quite striking, but it’s softened by the butterflies and delicate floral design. These western style ankle boots toughen up the whole look for a casual springtime vibe. I’m loving wearing a small block heel at the moment. The extra height makes me walk with a bit more confidence but they’re comfy enough to run about all day!

I’ve been wearing this cropped red cardigan loads lately. The half sleeve length and shorter length go so well with high waisted styles. Cropped cardigans are just so versatile. One of my favourite vintage style bloggers, Miss Amy May, seems to have one is every colour under the sun! I’m more than a little envious of her cropped cardigan collection. I really love this pinker shade of red with the dusky pink of the jacket. They just seem to match and clash so well! What are your favourite trends right now? Are you loving pink and red too or is it not your thing?
