I really should be working on building my new page but instead I’m taking pictures in the rain and posting here, because it’s what I know and it’s become so familiar now! We’re only 2 weeks into 2017 though, so there’s still plenty of time. It was a miserable and wet Monday, so I’ve gone with my trusty calf length leather DMs (that don’t look like DMs!) and a super old snuggly brown coat with raw seams and Teddy style collar detail.
The last time I wore this coat, it was a beautifully sunny day and I had a lunchtime stroll to Kensington Gardens to grab some shots for a blog post. Today was quite a different story – we had a couple of centimeters of snow last night which has melted now, but the wind is still bitter and temperatures are low.
I wrote about these boots last week, and they were super popular on my Instagram post. I’m not usually a slave to trends, but I’ve seen so many pairs on blog posts and Instagram that I’ve loved, I couldn’t help but buy these ones in the sales. Wearing them today for their second outing, I’d forgotten just how amazingly comfortable they are, like walking on clouds. The full coverage makes them lovely and warm for this time of year too. Even in a short dress and medium tights I feel well wrapped up against the elements.
It was gloomy and wet all day today so these pictures are a bit rushed and the lighting is pretty poor. I’m wearing one of my favourite jackets though (which I’ve written about before), so I don’t really mind too much as I can bury my face in the soft faux fur collar and ignore the miserable British winter weather.
My favourite kind of winter day is when it’s crisp, cold and sunny. Today was exactly that kind of day, so I delved to the very back of my wardrobe to bring out my number one cold weather coat – this amazing chocolate brown vintage faux fur number. Continue reading “Faux Fur and Sunshine”
Over-The-Knee boots are all over the place at the moment, and I’ve wanted a pair for ages, but not wanted to shell out hundreds of pounds for a trend that I wasn’t sure would suit me, or be particularly easy to wear. When I saw this suedette pair in New Look on sale for just £20, I couldn’t resist snapping them up! Burgundy is one of my favourite colours for clothing and accessories so adding more to my wardrobe is a no – brainer.
I’m wearing this Collectif swing coat all the time at the moment, and for good reason. It’s warm and practical and can be thrown over pretty much anything, it’s also got big useful pockets and the enormous faux fur collar is sooooo snuggly.
