I was in Weymouth this weekend just gone for my boyfriend’s brother-in-law’s Dad’s birthday celebrations. Yup, I know it’s quite a tenuous link. It was basically just a chance to get away from the city, catch up with family and eat lots of cake! And what better excuse to buy some new shoes for the occasion!
These two tone espadrilles were from a recent mini haul of new shoes from La Redoute. They had a huge sale on, and I picked up these beauties for 40% off. They have even more reductions on now with a couple of sizes left, so you can bag your own bargains! One of the reviews advised to size down which I did, and they’re a perfect fit. The suede is really soft, and they’re great summer shoes for when you need a bit more coverage. I think they’d be fantastic for sightseeing in colourful European cities and even on countryside trails closer to home. Maybe not the muddier ones though, they’re too pretty!
My second pair of new shoes were actually an impulse buy in Weymouth itself. We popped to Asda to pick up some food for the weekend, and I couldn’t resist a browse around the clothing section. I’ve picked up a few things from George @ Asda over the years and I’ve always been really pleased with the quality. I generally favour leather shoes over their synthetic counterparts these days, for a number of reasons. I find they last longer, are more comfortable and I usually prefer the look of them too. These sandals are leather, and a total bargain. I really love the metallic finish, and the block heel is the perfect height to be a little bit dressy without being impossible to walk in.
These M&S skinnies are my new favourite slim fit jeans. The classic indigo colour goes with everything, and the fit is super comfortable. The high waist can be worn under loose tops like this cotton floral vest, or dressed up with a tucked in top and a belt. I’m wearing the short version here, as I like how they sit a little higher on my ankles. I’m 5’4, so just on the very upper limit of petite sizing. These jeans are available in a lighter indigo wash too which I really like, and they’re an absolute bargain at only £19.50.
Finally, I’m wearing this pretty floral cotton top by Wrangler to complete the summery vibes. My best friend sent me this top all the way from New Zealand when she was living there many years ago, folded up into a tiny wicker pouch. It’s such a great piece to throw on for relaxing summer days, and it even has cute little pockets on the front! As it’s 100% cotton, it’s lovely and breathable and just perfect for chilling in the sunshine.
