I’m wearing this Collectif swing coat all the time at the moment, and for good reason. It’s warm and practical and can be thrown over pretty much anything, it’s also got big useful pockets and the enormous faux fur collar is sooooo snuggly.
Today, for my first working day of 2017, I’ve gone for my own take on smart-casual with a black shirt and purple pinafore style mini dress over leggings and ankle boots. The lighting was kind of odd today which is a shame, as these pictures don’t really do justice to the beautiful deep purple of this heavy cotton-mix dress. My best friend has the same dress in a blue and white check from a shopping trip together nearly a decade ago, and I love how comfortable and versatile it is, with an empire line style and ribbon tie back.
One thing I really want to focus on in 2017 in making more jewellery to add to my Etsy site. I’m quite the perfectionist, and I’ve not really felt confident to list most of the things I’ve made for fear of them not being good enough. On the flipside, I tend to like it all so much that I want to keep each piece for myself! This wire wrapped obsidian and silver pendant goes with everything, especially my favourite black and white swing coat.
I’d almost forgotten about these pale grey Swedish Hasbeens boots before I found them lurking under my bed! I’m still not sure they’re 100% worn in, the wooden clog sole gives virtually no flex, which means they’re quite tricky to walk in. They are super comfortable though, and I like how they bring something a little bit different to an otherwise very dark and fairly plain outfit.
