Black and White, Lace and a Gucci Belt

My Gucci belt finally arrived from Vestiare Collective! If you follow me on Twitter,  you might have seen my excitement waiting for this to arrive. It was my first time purchasing anything through Vestiare Collective, and although it took quite a long time to be delivered, I’m very happy with the service. I would definitely trust them as a company from which to purchase second hand high end items again.

Butterfly Dress and Denim Jacket – Spring is on its way!

I’d forgotten how much I like this butterfly print dress I picked up last summer. I remember being undecided about which size to get, being a bit in between sizes when I tried it on. I eventually went for the smaller of the two, and I’m really glad I did. After bursting out of another dress last week, I’ve been feeling a bit low in terms of my size, health and fitness in general. It’s definitely been a good start to the week to be able to fit into a smaller dress and being reminded that a broken zip doesn’t necessarily indicate an enormous size gain.

    Default Dress and Sparkly Flats

There’s a piece of advice that often pops up in fashion blogs.. It’s along the lines of “Have a default, fail safe look for days when you can’t be bothered to think about what to wear”. I’ve never really considered what my failsafe look would be, since I’m still very much working out my own style and signature pieces.

    Old Clothes, New Outfit

I’ve worn every item in this post hundreds of times, but never together! The burgundy knit from last winter is the newest piece here, and it’s featured many times over on my Instagram. I’m also wearing my go-to block heeled ankle boots, which have had A LOT of wear over the years. This thin Mac from Primark was a bargain buy ages ago, and whilst I’d like to invest in a higher quality version, I’ve yet to find something that I’m willing to splash out on when this one does the job pretty well. Finally, this printed light cotton skirt: I’m wearing in my Twitter profile pic, and it must be at least 10 years old now!

    Retro Tuesday – Valentine’s Edition

Valentine’s Day. Love it or not, it comes around every year, and it’s pretty much unavoidable. On social media, on the high street, on telly, it’s enforced romance and commercialism everywhere. To be fair, a lot of my friends have been advocating love in general, which is surely a good thing in the world today. I’m not a big fan of competitive romance, so I don’t really buy into the whole thing. I do like to nod to a trend in a small way though, so I’ve worn a red shirt and some rose quartz in honour of the schmaltz.

Denim Mini and a Duffle Coat

A sunny start to the week got me a bit over excited about wearing less wintery clothes. I pulled this denim mini skirt and white shirt out of the wardrobe with a thin jumper for a kind of preppy look to start the week. The trouble is, it’s still really cold so I’ve added knee high boots, tights and a duffle coat for warmth.

    Waterfall Cardigan

This weather this week’s got me all confused with my outfit decisions. It started to get a bit warmer, then suddenly the temperatures have plummeted again. I guess I shouldn’t complain, as I often laud the benefits of layering for such occasions, which is what I’ve done today.

    Lindy Bop and Collectif

I’m a massive fan of vintage reproduction companies. I’ve always admired people who fully commit to the vintage style, whether it be through seeking out a true vintage wardrobe, or through reproduction brands who batch produce modern pieces in vintage styles.

    Cosy Knit and Black

On a dreary Monday after a tiring weekend, I honestly didn’t have the energy to try and put together a particularly snazzy outfit. My default throughout the winter months has been a chunky, cosy knit and simple separates. I’ve gone for this tried and tested combo here, with an old roll neck jumper I acquired from a previous house share, trusty black skinnies and an age old wool coat.

    Burgundy, Black and Tartan

Today’s post is a short one – I’ve been so busy trying to migrate my old posts from this year over to the new website and make it look acceptable. I’ve not had too much time to pop out and take pictures or plan any detailed blog content, but that should change soon as I continue to develop this new site now it’s all up and running!
